3 Game Modes

Strathena is available in three different versions:

1. Single-player mode

2. Multiplayer mode

3. Simulation mode

.

1. Single-player mode

On the Strathena website and through the Strathena mobile app, you can play in single-player mode. In this mode, you will play independently against companies managed by artificial intelligences. This mode is ideal for self-paced learning or distance learning, but it can also be used as part of an in-person strategy course.

Two additional game modes are available upon request:

2. Multiplayer mode

In this mode, the game enables an instructor to lead a strategy course by having participants compete directly against one another. Each player manages the strategy of a company competing against companies controlled by the other players.

It is also possible to play in a hybrid mode, where some companies are managed by human players while others are controlled by artificial intelligences.

Strathena – External Growth (Auction History)

This multiplayer mode is designed for training organizations, educational institutions, and businesses. Different difficulty levels make it suitable for learners ranging from secondary school students to business school students and corporate executives.

3. Simulation mode

In this mode, the game automatically compares different strategies to evaluate their effectiveness. All companies are controlled by artificial intelligences that compete against each other year after year. To test different assumptions, users can adjust a wide range of parameters, including interest rates, market growth, antitrust limits, borrowing frequency and debt levels, limits on share issues and share buybacks, investment strategies, and external growth strategies.

This mode is primarily intended for companies, strategy consulting firms, and economists who wish to model and evaluate different strategic scenarios within a given competitive environment.
